With a profound commitment to advocating for marginalized communities, I am Jessie Vargas, pursuing my Master of Social Work degree. My diverse experience includes serving individuals who are undocumented and uninsured, as well as working within spiritual communities and participating in missionary efforts. As a first-generation Guatemalan American, I am deeply committed to enhancing the well-being of children and adolescents, with a strong academic foundation focused on child development and trauma-informed care. I am eager to contribute to the growth and empowerment of young minds. As a proud member of the Center of Excellence for Latinx Students, I am dedicated to advocating for Latinx communities, promoting equity, and fostering inclusion in every aspect of my work.
